Emirates Premium Economy lifts Mauritius to three-class service

Emirates is adding Premium Economy on two of its three daily Mauritius–Dubai flights from 1 September 2026. The move lifts the route into a consistent three-class widebody offering on most rotations. It also aligns Mauritius with Emirates’ broader strategy to place its mid-tier product on tourism-heavy and diaspora-rich markets.

A three-class upgrade on a key Indian Ocean route

From 1 September, Premium Economy will be available on flights EK703/704 and EK709/710 between Dubai International and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. EK703/704 will be served by an Airbus A380 configured with 76 Business Class seats, 56 Premium Economy seats and 437 Economy Class seats, according to Emirates’ media centre. EK709/710 will be operated by a retrofitted Boeing 777 offering 38 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats and 214 Economy Class seats.

As a result, two of the three daily services will now carry a dedicated cabin aimed at travellers willing to pay above Economy for more space and comfort, without moving to full Business Class. Emirates has served Mauritius since 2002 and has helped promote the island as a global holiday destination through its network. By contrast, some rival carriers still run two-class aircraft on comparable Indian Ocean sectors.

The decision to deploy its latest-generation cabins on the Mauritius route reinforces that long-term commitment. It effectively plugs Mauritian travellers into a 70-destination network across Europe, Asia and the Americas with a consistent mid-tier product.
